This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced communicator who thrives on collaboration, clarity, and stakeholder engagement within a collegiate environment.

About the Role

As Communications & Engagement Officer, you will shape and deliver communication strategies that support the successful rollout of the project across colleges. Working closely with the project team—particularly the existing Communication Officer—you will ensure that all messaging is accurate, accessible, and aligned with both the wider project plan and University/IT Services branding standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the project's integrated communication strategy, advising on effective approaches, channels, and messaging.
  • Collaborate with the existing Communication Officer to determine where communication should be tailored for specific college audiences versus where generic content is appropriate.
  • Develop and deliver approved communication and engagement activities, ensuring clear, accurate and consistent messaging.
  • Produce high-quality content—including briefings, newsletters, web content and other materials—for non-specialist audiences, translating technical details into accessible language.
  • Serve as a consistent liaison point for colleges, coordinating briefings, attending college-led working groups, and supporting responses to enquiries.
  • Share stakeholder insights with project colleagues and ensure feedback is directed and addressed appropriately.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships across the college community by providing timely information, responding to feedback and facilitating opportunities for collaboration and consultation.
  • Monitor communication effectiveness, providing reports to the Business Change Manager and/or Project Manager.
  • Identify and escalate risks or issues, supporting the development and delivery of appropriate mitigations.
About You

You will bring strong communication expertise, stakeholder intuition and an ability to translate complex ideas into compelling, understandable content. You are organised, diplomatic and confident working with diverse groups across a collegiate environment.
