The primary purpose of this position is to develop the electrical and mechanical skills required to progress to a Technician in the Automation roles. In this job you will assist Mechanic IIs and IIIs to diagnose, adjust, repair and maintain Automation equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment and complete appropriate documentation.

· Gain familiarization with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment

· Obtain general knowledge of Industrial Power 3 Phase 480V and industry accepted electrical safety practices for testing energized circuits.

· To assist other maintenance team members with duties/repairs of equipment consistent with level of experience and training

Minimum Qualifications

· Basic knowledge of Industrial Power 3 Phase 480V and industry accepted electrical safety practices for testing energized circuits.

· General understanding of PLC and VFD controlled machinery.

· Efficient in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical components.

· Able to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams including complex automated system drawings.

· Proper use of power tools and measuring devices--must provide all basic hand tools required to maintain automated equipment.

· Must be able to work at heights up to 110 ft.

· Able to access assets in the structure using ladders (ladder weight limit of 300 lbs)

· Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Windows based operating systems.

· Experience welding with MIG, TIG, or Stick a plus.

· Knowledge of ABB/SEW drive technology a plus.

· Experience with various Machine Shop equipment a plus

Skills and Abilities

· Constant- seeing, hearing, sitting

· Frequent- standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, reaching, gripping of items 20 lbs. and under

· Occasional- carrying and lifting items over 60lbs.
