Job Title: Handyman & Cleaning Assistant

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: £2,000 – £2,500 per month (review after 6 months)

Driving Requirement: Must have a valid UK driving licence and own vehicle. Mileage allowance will be reimbursed by the company.

Work Location: In-person across Maidstone, Swanley, Ashford, and surrounding towns in Kent and South East London.

About the Role:

Are you a practical, detail-oriented person who takes pride in keeping properties spotless and well-maintained? Rent In Kent is seeking a Handyman & Cleaning Assistant to help maintain and service our rental properties across Kent and South East London. You will play a vital role in ensuring our properties are safe, clean, and welcoming for our tenants and guests.

Key Responsibilities:

Handyman Duties:

• Carry out general property maintenance such as minor plumbing, painting, carpentry, and electrical repairs.
• Conduct property inspections to identify maintenance issues and address them promptly.
• Install, assemble, or replace fixtures, furniture, and appliances when required.
• Perform outdoor work such as garden cleaning, lawn and hedge maintenance, weed removal, and general upkeep of exterior areas.
• Safely remove rubbish or waste from properties and dispose of it responsibly at the nearest recycling or waste centre.
• Handle small repairs and coordinate with professional tradesmen for major works.
• Ensure all tools, materials, and company equipment are maintained properly.
• Should have own tools.

Cleaning Duties:

• Clean and sanitise all rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and communal areas to a professional standard.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, and polish floors and surfaces.
• Wipe windows, mirrors, doors, and furniture to maintain a fresh, welcoming atmosphere.
• Wash, dry, and iron linen, curtains, and other fabrics when required.
• Restock cleaning materials and essential supplies.
• Assist during tenant move-ins and move-outs to ensure each property is clean, functional, and ready for occupation.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in cleaning, property maintenance, or handyman work.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleaning and presentation standards.
• Must have own vehicle and a valid UK driving licence (mileage paid by the company).
• Reliable, punctual, and capable of managing multiple property tasks daily.
• Friendly and professional attitude when interacting with tenants and team members.
• Ability to work independently and under time-sensitive conditions.
• Immediate availability to join will be preferred.
