Role description: To support activity towards 'right people at the right time in the right place' to deliver short- and long-term business plans and strategy. Balancing business financial targets (utilisation and multiplier), People First decisions and Client experience. To support the Strategic Workforce Planning vision of resource agility – bringing the benefit for our clients, our business and our people.
Role accountabilities:
- Stakeholder management: Foster collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in the business to build an understanding of business need in the short and longer term. For example (but not limited to)
- Other Senior Resource Planners and Resource Planners
- BDs
- PMs, Account Leads and AWPMs
- Strategic Pursuits Team
- HRBPs, Finance and TA
- Resource Optimisation: Implement resource levelling across business line by monitoring supply and demand. Monitor large projects for changing demands and evolving requirements. Optimise resourcing model through governance and allocation of permanent staff, contingent workers and use of GEC in accordance with commercial plans, client need and meeting our employer of choice objectives. Negotiate on skills and grade mix to achieve optimal size and shape of team, taking account of L&D needs, skills gaps, and recruitment plans.
- Planning: Provide insight on skills and capabilities required as well as insight into the analytics, modelling and data integrity required for successful resource deployment
- Reporting & Data Insight: Publish regular set metrics, reporting consistently and providing valuable insight to RMs and the business, bringing data to life to support resourcing decisions
- Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Working with SWP peers to identify and build towards best practice and continue to evolve our approach to SWP.
- One Team: Work together and support team members to succeed in role and develop and mentor each other with a Grow Perform Succeed mindset
- Liaise and maintain relationships with all relevant stakeholders across business line
- Be a trusted advisor for the resource management and development of future resource capability
- Line manage and develop Resource Planners
- Work closely with peers in HR, L&D, Recruitment, Finance and Operations to ensure seamless and joined up end to end service to the business
- Proactively engage in resource demand profiling for new client wins and support bid submissions under the 'Pursuit to Win' framework
- Conduct CV reviews with individuals to support their career aspirations
- Support and mentor new/junior members of the team
- Undertake project work as required by the SWP Leadership
Qualifications & Experience:
- Prior experience in resource management and workforce planning
- Strong stakeholder management skills with a keen eye for detail and high level of data accuracy
- A blend of people, data and operational skill sets
- Experience of mentoring/developing junior staff
- Collaborative with peers, confident and self-aware
- High integrity
- Flexible and a strong team player
- Confident communicator - used to dealing with people at all levels
- Demonstrates determination, resourcefulness, and purpose to deliver best results for the business
- Experience of managing conflict resolution
- Is future-focused, inquisitive, and open-minded
- Uses information, insights, sound judgement and knowledge in a structured way to identify options and make robust resourcing decisions
- Proactively researches best practice and trends and makes recommendations for improvements to policies and processes
- A flexible attitude and a willingness to share knowledge
