Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Garden Cenre colleague, The ideal candidate will have a strong background in gardening and horticulture, coupled with excellent communication and organisational skills. You will play a crucial role in managing daily operations, ensuring the garden centre is well-stocked, and creating an inviting atmosphere for our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Look after the garden centre, ensuring high standards of customer service are maintained.
  • Assist customers with plant selection, care advice, and gardening tips to enhance their experience.
  • Manage inventory levels, including ordering new stock and merchandising displays to maximise sales.
  • Coordinate staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak times.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the garden centre to create an appealing shopping environment.
  • Implement promotional activities and events to engage the community and drive sales.
  • Involves the lifting of heavy products up to 25 kilos

Requirements

  • Proven experience in gardening or horticulture is essential; supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable for engaging with a diverse customer base.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Knowledge of merchandising techniques to effectively display products and attract customers.
  • A passion for plants and gardening, with the ability to share that enthusiasm with others.
