Job Introduction

We're hiring for a Bank Cafe Assistant for Grimsbury Community Farm

We are looking for a flexible café assistant for our Community farm and barn café.

This role requires flexibility to work in our Barn Café at Grimsbury Farm

You will play a key part in supporting the Café Managers in the daily running of the café. You will assist the café managers with weekly and monthly tasks including reporting, financial and health & safely processes.

You will deputise in the absence of the café Managers.

We're looking for:

  • An active interest in current in hospitality
  • Excellent communication skills, you'll be able to support staff with a learning disability.
  • Self-motivated, organised and commercially aware..
  • Experience in retail, hospitality, cash handling and record keeping.
  • Confident with technology you'll have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to make clear commercial decisions and analyse information.
  • Level 2 Maths and English qualifications (or able to demonstrate this capacity through assessment).
  • A full driving licence is desirable with access to your own vehicle.

Your responsibilities:

  • Help manage the day-to-day running of the café and deputising in the manager's absence.
  • Support the Café Manager to provide revenue and raise awareness of Brandon in the community.
  • You'll support the Café Manager in the recruitment, training and development volunteers and staff with a learning disability.
  • Support the café manager to achieve income targets and sales.
  • Contribute and action shop floor checks to maintain high standards.
  • Working with the Cafe Manager you'll collaborate / take the lead on agreed in-store and external promotions.

Brandon Trust work alongside people of different ability so they are able to create opportunity and feel empowered to live the life they want.

All support workers work flexible shifts to provide a 24/7 service. Successful applicants for this role will require an enhanced DBS check.
