Job Overview

Hello we are a family run mixed farm just out side of the the village of Gnosall, which is situated between Newport and Stafford on the staffordshire/shropshire border. We milk around 500 dairy cows, have 350 beef stock, 16000 free range hens and around 450acres of arable all work is done in house bar maize drilling maize cutting, baling. We are looking for a GFW come tractor driver, 30% GFW livestock etc and 70% tractor work, main jobs being Slurry tanking(with joskin tank with dribble bar) grass tedding/raking hauling grass/maize silage, mucking out yards FYM, spreading FYM with rear discharge spreaders along with a whole host of other jobs. Weekend work is working with milking team pushing cows around and preping beds for the return of cows scraping up. Hours week day 7-5. Week ends 4.30-9ish afternoons 2.30=6ish hours will vary depending on the time of year and holiday cover will be expected all part of the team game. Accommodation- there is a house in the village valuable 1.5 miles from the farm

Duties

  • Assist with planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops
  • Provide care for livestock, including feeding, bedding and monitoring health
  • Utilise hand tools and power tools for various farming tasks
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on farming equipment
  • Some manual lifting as required for transporting materials or produce
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas

Skills

  • Some mechanical knowledge for equipment repair and maintenance
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Basic math skills for measuring and calculating quantities
  • Ability to perform some lifting throughout the day
  • Knowledge of animal care practices is help full.

Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 48 – 55 per week
