The VP Legal - Corporate & Central Functions is a senior leadership role responsible for providing high-quality corporate and commercial legal advice across multiple business areas and central functions, including Finance, People & Culture, Procurement, and Strategy. This position combines complex legal expertise with people leadership and strategic business partnering, managing a sub-team and supporting the Chief Legal Officer in shaping and delivering the global legal strategy.

The role is pivotal in overseeing legal governance, risk management, and driving business transformation across international regions, ensuring legal frameworks and contracts evolve in line with the organisation's growth ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver clear, commercially focused legal guidance across corporate, commercial, compliance and regulatory matters.
  • Lead and manage M&A's, JVs and other complex corporate matters
  • Advise on intellectual property, compliance, litigation and data protection.
  • Execute global and regional legal strategies at the local level, ensuring they align with business objectives and drive operational efficiency.
  • Manage governance, compliance, and risk matters aligning with broader organisational standards.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders and operational teams to support strategic decision-making and ensure policies, terms, and conditions are both legally sound and commercially effective.
  • Enhance legal operations by refining processes, templates, and internal policies for greater efficiency.
  • Work closely with the various internal functions such as Finance, HR and Procurement alongside supporting multiple businesses in the group.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified as a Solicitor with substantial corporate and commercial experience gained across both private practice and in-house roles.
  • Strong experience leading through M&As required
  • Corporate finance (capital structure, banking arrangements and integration / separation arrangements)
  • Ability to thrive in a complex, fast-paced international environment across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, bringing a pragmatic, adaptable, and solutions-oriented approach to complex legal challenges.
  • Experience leading legal teams with a collaborative, inclusive leadership style that fosters alignment and accountability.
  • Strong commercial and operational insight, balancing legal risk with business objectives.
