We're partnering with a well-known consumer goods brand within the food manufacturing and retail industry, looking for a
Senior Demand Planner
to strengthen their planning function during a key phase of growth. This role is pivotal in ensuring optimal product availability across major retail and grocery channels while driving improvements in forecasting accuracy, efficiency, and cost control.
This position is suited to an experienced demand or supply chain planning professional with advanced analytical capabilities and the confidence to partner with stakeholders across commercial, operations, and finance. You'll play a strategic role in refining forecasting models, enhancing planning processes, and delivering meaningful insight to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and refinement of demand forecasts across key retail and grocery partners, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives
- Analyse sales performance, promotional impact, and market trends to inform production and stock planning decisions
- Track and report on demand accuracy, availability, and waste KPIs, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
- Partner with procurement and manufacturing teams to align material requirements and capacity plans with forecasted demand
- Oversee planning for new product introductions, range transitions, and product lifecycle management
- Deliver clear, insightful reporting and presentations to senior leadership, highlighting opportunities, risks, and performance outcomes
- Drive process improvements across forecasting systems and tools, ensuring consistent, data-driven decision-making
- Collaborate cross-functionally with supply chain, logistics, and commercial teams to enhance overall operational efficiency
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a
Senior Demand Planner
or similar role within
FMCG, food production, or consumer goods - Advanced
Excel
and data modelling skills; Power BI or Power Query experience preferred - Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings effectively
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience working cross-functionally at senior levels
- Highly organised and proactive, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated experience improving forecasting accuracy and streamlining planning processes
- Available to start at short notice
