What you'll be doing:

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the assembly, maintenance, and repair of mechanical lifting, pulling and deployment (LPD) systems and related equipment. The role will include workshop-based fitting as well as site installations and servicing when required.

Day to day responsibilities:

  • Assemble, strip, and rebuild LPD mechanical components to engineering specifications
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on LPD systems
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs to a high standard
  • Work with engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Conduct testing and commissioning of equipment
  • Maintain a safe and tidy working environment in line with company HSE policies

What experience you'll bring:

Essential:

  • Completion of a recognised engineering / trade apprenticeship.
  • Competent in the use of measuring tools such as micrometres, vernier gauges and dial indicators
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals
  • Experience in limits and fits on machined components
  • Experience in the assembly of new mechanical equipment
  • Competent in the use of heavy workshop tooling
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools
  • Experience in the use of manual and hydraulic bolt torquing equipment

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of working with heavy machinery
  • HNC or equivalent in Engineering
