Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site role based in Sheffield for a Duty Manager at the Tropical Butterfly House. The Duty Manager will oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for visitors and staff. Responsibilities include supervising daily activities, maintaining high customer service standards, coordinating team members, and ensuring the wellbeing of animals and guests. The Duty Manager will be responsible for implementing health and safety measures and facilitating effective communication among management and staff. This position is integral to delivering exceptional visitor experiences and upholding the centre's reputation for excellence.

Qualifications

  • Leadership and Team Management skills: Experience in supervising staff, managing schedules, and leading a team effectively.
  • Customer Service and Communication skills: Ability to maintain high-quality visitor experiences, handle inquiries, and resolve customer issues efficiently.
  • Operational and Safety Awareness: Understanding of health and safety protocols and experience ensuring compliance in live or interactive environments.
  • Organisational and Problem-Solving skills: Capability to plan daily operations and address issues proactively while maintaining smooth workflows.
  • An understanding of animal care or zoo/wildlife centre operations will be highly beneficial.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and school-break periods as required by the nature of the Centre's operations.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in management, hospitality, or wildlife-related fields are a plus.
