The role
We're looking for an experienced Key Account Director to focus on one of Nearform's strategic enterprise accounts where we have multiple projects and workstreams. This role is responsible for growing and deepening this relationship, ensuring Nearform becomes a long‑term strategic partner across the client's organisation. The Key Account Director will help shape and execute growth initiatives within the account.
As a Key Account Director, you will build and nurture strong, lasting relationships across the client's business, from executive sponsors to functional and technical stakeholders. You will proactively identify new needs and opportunities within the account, structuring and selling Nearform propositions that create measurable value. You will work closely with Delivery to shape, propose and close new work, and to ensure smooth ongoing account management, including Statements of Work and procurement processes.
Our ideal candidate
- Highly motivated and experienced consulting sales professional with the passion, energy and conviction to take on a new challenge within a strategic key account.
- Possesses strong commercial acumen and can demonstrate a track record of selling and delivering technology engagements.
- Able to overachieve in a fast‑paced environment while managing a complex, multi‑workstream account.
- Process‑driven and follows proven best practice in account development, stakeholder mapping and pipeline management.
- Ideally comes from a technical background and is comfortable engaging in solution‑oriented discussions with technical stakeholders.
- Experience of working with (or within) large management consultancies.
Primary Responsibilities
- Contribute to and execute the strategic direction for a single key enterprise client, aligning with Nearform's broader account strategy and plans.
- Build a broad and deep stakeholder network within the client organisation, using introductions and referrals to expand Nearform's footprint.
- Continuously identify client needs and new opportunities within existing workstreams and new areas of the client, shaping Nearform propositions that address these needs and drive measurable value.
- Lead responses to RFx processes, shaping the response, and manage the sales/negotiation process through to signature.
- Interface with procurement and legal teams on an ongoing basis to manage the MSA, SOWs, renewals, and any commercial escalations.
- Partner closely with Delivery teams to ensure engagements are scoped effectively, set up for success, and aligned with the client's objectives.
- Maintain an accurate view of opportunity pipeline, including visibility of upcoming renewals, expansions and risks.
Experience guidelines
- Experience working on or with strategic/key accounts that have multiple workstreams, ideally in a global or multi‑region context.
- Deep expertise in technology‑related sales
- Technical background or demonstrable ability to engage credibly in discussions related to software engineering, data, AI or digital platforms.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and business concepts clearly
- Prior experience within a consultancy or working closely with management consultancy clients is highly desirable.
Benefits
- Competitive employee benefits package.
- Work remotely; there is a genuine dedication to work/life balance.
- Work flexibly; flexible working culture allows you to work around what matters – for example, family commitments.
- Access to wellness resources and support, including confidential advice and wellbeing initiatives.
Although widely dispersed, Nearformers are a tightly‑knit team that trusts one another and cares about colleagues. There are regular opportunities to connect in person at company events, and the culture builds on open‑source origins, promoting the sharing of thoughts, knowledge and ideas.
Nearform is committed to shaping a better world in all that we do. Our global team is built based on respect, inclusivity, diversity and excellence.
If you require any adjustments to the interview process as part of your application, please let someone from our Talent Team know so they can help.
