About Us
Merstham Glass is a long-established, family-run business based in Surrey. We specialise in the installation of windows, doors, conservatories, and a wide range of bespoke glazing products. With a reputation built on quality, honesty, and craftsmanship, we're looking for an experienced Sales Consultant to join our friendly and professional team.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced glazing or home-improvement professional who enjoys consultative selling and building long-term customer relationships.
You'll be responsible for managing your own enquiries — from the first conversation and site visit through to creating accurate estimates and securing the order. Once a job is confirmed, it will be passed to our surveying and installation management teams to handle the project delivery.
You'll also represent Merstham Glass at our weekly Thursday business networking meeting, helping to grow our brand locally and build valuable new relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage incoming and self-generated sales enquiries for:
- Windows, doors, and conservatories (PVCu, aluminium, timber)
- Glass balustrades (internal and external)
- Shower screens and enclosures
- Mirrors and splashbacks (coloured and printed)
- Replacement sealed units and other bespoke glazing solutions
- Meet customers in the showroom, on-site, or in their homes to understand requirements and discuss suitable products.
- Prepare detailed and accurate estimates/quotations based on customer needs.
- Follow up on all quotations to convert enquiries into confirmed orders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring a professional and friendly service.
- Attend weekly Thursday morning business networking meetings to represent Merstham Glass and generate leads.
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure smooth handovers to surveyors and installation managers once orders are confirmed.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in sales within the glazing, window, door, or conservatory industry (essential).
- Strong product knowledge across PVCu, aluminium, and timber systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confident producing and presenting estimates accurately.
- Self-motivated, well-organised, and target-driven while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
- Competent in basic IT (email, Microsoft Office, CRM systems).
- Full UK driving licence.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary (based on experience).
- 21 days annual holiday plus bank holidays.
- Supportive, family-run environment with a strong reputation for quality.
- Opportunities to build long-term customer relationships and develop professionally.
