The Hayloft Restaurant is a key part of our guest experience, offering relaxed yet refined service in a beautifully restored setting. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Restaurant Manager to lead the Hayloft team and deliver memorable moments for every guest.
Role Overview
As the Hayloft Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring high standards of service, staff performance, and guest satisfaction. You will take ownership of the dining experience from open to close, manage a dynamic front-of-house team, and collaborate closely with the kitchen and events teams to maintain seamless service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and motivate the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional hospitality.
- Oversee daily restaurant operations including reservations, service flow, table management, and guest communication.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and atmosphere within the restaurant space.
- Work alongside the General Manager and Head Chef to coordinate service timing, specials, and menu delivery.
- Manage staff rotas, shift briefings, and performance feedback.
- Handle guest feedback professionally, resolving issues promptly and courteously.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, licensing, and food hygiene regulations.
- Support with stock control, ordering, and supplier coordination for front-of-house needs.
- Assist in planning and executing special events, private dining experiences, and seasonal offerings.
- Monitor sales performance, upselling opportunities, and overall profitability of the Hayloft Restaurant.
- Adopt a warm, welcoming environment that reflects the values and character of The Farmhouse at Fincham.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality management, ideally within a hotel, or quality dining setting.
- A passion for food, drink, and guest experience.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of reservation systems and front-of-house service standards.
- A hands-on approach and willingness to lead by example during busy service.
- Understanding of cost control, stock management, and basic financial reporting.
- Personal licence holder (preferred but not essential).
