Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the lunch club arrangements, serving the children and supervising them whilst they eat.

Main purpose of the role:

To assist with snack times and lunch club, providing cover for staff lunches.

To assist with maintaining the setting.

  • To prepare the dining area for children to attend lunch club and collect the hot school dinners from the St Andrews Lower School kitchen staff.
  • To serve the hot school dinners ordered by parents/carers to the children.
  • Supervise the children at lunch club and engage the children about healthy food choices and preferences.
  • Encourage children to develop independent skills such as pouring their own drinks and using cutlery safely.
  • To follow our Food Policy in line with healthy eating guidelines.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that all allergy information is adhered to for all children.
  • To maintain a healthy and clean environment in the children's dining room area at all times, following the colour coded procedure and in line with Basic Food Hygiene recommendations.
  • Any adhoc tasks required by the Duty Manager.

Working hours are 10.30am to 2.30pm Monday to Friday 39 weeks of the year, term time only.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Up to date training in Food Hygiene and Handling

Up to date training in Paediatric First Aid

Previous experience of working with children within the Early Years age range

Previous experience of working in a catering environment
