Joining a newly created team and reporting into the ERP Programme Director, the SAP Test Manager will take the lead on all SAP testing within our Transformation programme. You'll work closely with colleagues across the SAP Centre of Excellence to plan, develop and manage robust testing processes that ensure the quality, reliability and success of our SAP solutions.

The role

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop plans for SAP applications (OCR, Concur, Invoice Error Handling and HR mini Master), ensuring budget controls are met.

  • Manage development requests from internal stakeholders and coordinate delivery across teams.

  • Plan and oversee the development lifecycle for SAP applications, identifying and addressing overlaps or risks to keep activity on track.

  • Communicate deployment processes across SAP Solutions teams and ensure alignment for live environment releases.

  • Collaborate with external suppliers and internal development teams to coordinate testing and deployments.

  • Chair development testing planning meetings to prioritise testing requests alongside business stakeholders.

  • Identify, manage and communicate any risks or dependencies between new solutions delivered as part of the SAP Transformation programme.

  • Work with the ERP Programme Director, Technology Project Managers, SAP Process Manager and SAP Environments Manager to coordinate testing schedules with operational activity.

  • Partner with SAP teams to refine and implement improvements to the test and release processes across all SAP applications.

  • Coordinate IT and UAT testing, liaising with end users to ensure requirements and timescales are clearly defined and met.

  • Manage delivery from third-party vendors, ensuring issues around delivery and quality are quickly resolved.

  • Oversee QA processes to ensure code is thoroughly tested before handover to end users for UAT.

  • Ensure comprehensive test scripts are in place for all UAT and regression testing within the transformation programme.

  • Maintain clear links between testing specifications and business requirements, supporting teams in planning and delivering regression testing.

  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure code released into live systems meets quality standards and minimises business impact.

  • Further develop and enhance the automation test tool to strengthen SAP functional testing and maximise efficiency.

  • Take ownership of the release module in Jira and Service Now, ensuring effective ongoing management.

  • Chair go/no-go meetings for deployments, presenting test results and release plans to gain stakeholder alignment and sign-off.

What you'll bring

Essential criteria:

  • A proven track record of supporting business systems and SAP applications including Concur, OCR systems and HR mini master.

  • Previous SAP management experience, ideally with a background as a Test Analyst in SAP environments.

  • ITIL qualification.

  • Experience improving testing processes and applying different development methodologies.

  • Confidence working as a key point of contact between users, IT teams and suppliers.

  • Strong understanding of interface testing, including writing detailed test scripts and test plans.

  • Experience with integration testing, collaborating effectively with project teams and third parties.

  • In-depth knowledge of SAP solutions and the testing required for each.

  • Experience using testing tools such as Jira and Service Now.

Preferred criteria:

  • Able to thrive in fast paced and high-pressure environments, finding solutions in a timely manner.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate complex information and use judgement to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
