Reports To: Chefs within the Kitchen Environment

We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Kitchen Assistant at Discovery Care Group. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen operations. Responsibilities:

1. Basic Food Preparation: Assist in basic food preparation tasks as directed by the chefs.

2. Washing Up, Cleaning, and Clearing: Ensure all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are washed, cleaned, and stored appropriately. Keep kitchen areas tidy and organized.

3. Unloading and Putting Away Deliveries: Receive and unpack deliveries, ensuring items are stored in the correct locations.

4. Emptying Bins, Sweeping, and Mopping Floors: Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment by regularly emptying bins and cleaning floors.

5. Ensuring Equipment is Clean and Stored Properly: Follow established procedures for cleaning and storing kitchen equipment to ensure its longevity and functionality.

6. Deep Cleaning Fridges and Store Rooms: Conduct regular deep cleaning of fridges and store rooms to uphold sanitary and safety standards.

7. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations. Take initiative to address tasks and challenges as they arise.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not mandatory.

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.

- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

- Initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
