Technical Project Manager/ ITMS Transition

Location:
Belfast (Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our professional services team in Belfast. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing small to medium-scale projects across Digital, IT, Data, and Business Transformation initiatives. They will oversee project resources, schedules, and financials while ensuring adherence to PRINCE2 stage gate quality and control guidelines.

This role requires a strong ability to manage risks, issues, and change requests to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities


• Planning and designing the project and proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action


• Management of the project budget, including monitoring of expenditure (actual/forecast) and timely reporting to the programme management team


• Management of 3rd party suppliers and delivery partners, ensuring timely delivery of their obligations


• Responsible for developing strong relationships with team members, vendors and delivery partners.


• Management of any issues that will impact the successful delivery of the project in achieving its objectives/outcomes


• Management of any risks (with associated response plans) that could impact the successful delivery of the project in achieving its deliverables.


• Operation of the change control process during project delivery


• Track and report interdependencies with other projects within the portfolio and communicate these to other projects and the Programme


• Identification and management of resourcing to ensure the project plan can be delivered


• Reporting to programme management at agreed frequency and project progress utilising highlight reports

It is expected that the individual will have demonstrable experience of the following:


• Experience of creating project plans for large, complex projects spanning multiple months, with demonstrable ownership of achieving milestones


• Strong experience managing large budgets with associated forecasting and tracking.


• Experience of directing and managing a large/complex multidisciplinary project teams (working under a matrix organisational structure) to ensure deliverables are completed on time and to the required quality


• Experience of resource management and forecasting, within a matrix delivery structure, ensuring that the right resources are available at the right time, to meet delivery targets.


• Experience of working within a structured PMO or similar environment, utilisation of defined processes and procedures.


• Strong risk and issue project management experience, demonstration of issue resolution (i.e. problem solving) and risk mitigation approaches.

Essential Criteria

Candidates must demonstrate:


•
Extensive knowledge of Commercial Services framework contracts


• A minimum of 10 years experience working within the technology sector


• A minimum of 5 years experience of Service / Contract management of large value, complex service agreements
