Role: Children's Residential Support Worker

Location: Rotherham (S60)

Salary details: £15.00 per hour/per year £28,860 and up to £36,769 with sleep ins. £65.00 per sleep-in (working approx. 10 sleep ins per month up to £7908 per year)

Full time: 36 Hours per week - Shifts & Sleep In's. Every other weekend working

The post holder will provide high quality care and interventions to children and young people in a residential children's homes, which will contribute to the protection, safeguarding and promotion of the education, health and well-being of children and young people.

Our Ideal Candidate will have:

  • At least 2 years experience working with children in a residential setting.
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Level 3 Diploma in Children's and Young Peoples Workforce

  • Level 3 Diploma for the Children's and Young People's Workforce or similar Level 3 qualification e.g. AS and A levels, NVQs Level 3, Applied A Levels, BTEC First Certificates and Diplomas, City and Guilds Advanced, or NQF Level 4 Certificates of Higher Education - Essential
  • Has a valid full UK manual driving license.- Essential
  • At least 2 years experience working with Children in a residential setting - Essential
  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills. IT skills necessary to undertake all administrative and reporting requirements. Including using a range of computer applications and ICT including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, internet and e-mail. - Essential

Job Specific Notes

  • The post holder will be required to work 'Out of Normal Office Hours' on a shift rota basis to include working evenings, weekends and bank holidays. The current rota includes working every other weekend on a six week rolling rota. Maximum hours per week is 43 and the minimum hours per week is 30. Staff average 36 hours per week over the six week rolling rota.
  • This post involves working with children/ adults and therefore if successful you will be required to apply for a disclosure of criminal records check at an enhanced level.
