About the role

Are you passionate about driving quality and assurance in the built environment? We're looking for a proactive, solutions-focused professional with strong technical expertise to lead building assurance across our UK Property portfolio.

As the Building Assurance Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring robust, effective, and consistent building assurance procedures are in place. You'll collaborate across Engineering, Maintenance, Delivery, Procurement, and Contract Management teams, as well as with external contractors and consultants, to drive continuous improvement and uphold the highest standards in building quality.

You will be responsible for

  • Defining the Uk Property Building Assurance Strategy and work in collaboration with colleagues from Engineering, Maintenance, Delivery and Procurement to ensure we have the correct procedures for building assurance.
  • Act as the technical lead for building assurance across UK Property.
  • Collaborate with internal team, external contractors, and consultants to drive continuous improvement in quality outcomes.
  • Act as the technical lead on all matters relating to the Building Condition Survey (BCS) programme.
  • Work alongside the Building Strategy Manager to review trends and highlight technical and assurance areas for improvement to the leadership team.
  • Lead BCS quality assurance checks, both desktop and physical, to ensure the quality and completeness of the data being collected by surveyors.
  • Provide techncial analysis to ensure reliable asset and defect data is being captured and effectively filtered to various stakeholders
  • Be an active member of the Building Design Standards group
  • Stay up to date on the changes witihin the construction, building assurance, building contract, and surveying industries, including attending trade fairs and industry events.

You will need

  • MRICS / MCIOB
  • Buidling Surveyor Degree or similar qualification in the built environment
  • Experience leading change, stakeholder management, upskilling teams and embedding new processes or standards
  • Experience working alongside relevant building health & safety legislation and building regulations.
  • Proven track record in building quality assurance, audit processes and implementing improvement plans.
  • Experience with using and applying building contracts and terms.
