On behalf of our esteemed client, a forward-thinking secondary school in Manchester, we are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher to join their faculty. This full-time, permanent position commencing ASAP and presents an exceptional opportunity to shape young minds and foster a passion for design, creativity, and innovation.

The Position

As a Design and Technology Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in guiding students through the exciting world of design and engineering. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive instruction in various disciplines, including product design, textiles, electronics, and graphic design. Your expertise will empower students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and practical skills that are essential for success in the 21st century.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging and rigorous Design and Technology lessons that align with the national curriculum and meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Create a vibrant and inclusive learning environment that encourages experimentation, collaboration, and creative expression.
  • Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their academic and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the Design and Technology department and across the school to ensure a cohesive and enriching educational experience.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure the relevance and currency of your teaching.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Design and Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Design and Technology at the secondary level.
  • A strong understanding of design principles, manufacturing processes, and materials.
  • Proficiency in a range of design software and technologies.
