Job Summary

Grill Plug Cambridge is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Team Assistant to join our energetic team. This hands-on role combines kitchen support, supervision, and customer service in a busy, fast-paced food environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for great food, strong teamwork skills, and the drive to help keep our kitchen and service running smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Take telephone orders
  • Assist with food preparation and cooking in line with Grill Plug standards.
  • Supervise and support kitchen and service staff to maintain efficiency during peak hours.
  • Ensure high standards of hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness at all times.
  • Help manage stock levels and assist with ordering supplies when needed.
  • Work closely with the team to deliver a great customer experience.
  • Support the training of new team members on food handling, safety, and service standards.
  • Engage positively with customers and handle feedback or concerns promptly.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a restaurant, takeaway, or hospitality setting is essential.
  • Strong understanding of food preparation and kitchen operations.
  • Experience supervising or leading a small team is desirable.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Experience in front-of-house, serving, or barista roles is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Passionate about hospitality, teamwork, and delivering top-quality service.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
