Full-time (35 hours per week) although job share would be considered
Salary: £24,837 - £29,169 per annum (or pro-rated if applicable)
A new opportunity has arisen within the office of The Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich for an Office and Finance Manager. Working within a small team, the successful candidate will work closely with the PA to the Archdeacons, the Diocese Finance Manager and the Bishop's Chaplain to manage the Bishop's office and ensure the smooth running of its finances and administrative function.
This is a varied role demanding both flexibility, creativity and attention to detail. You will be responsible for managing the Bishop's office budget and dealing with day-to-day financial matters, maintaining records and making payments for the Bishop's Trust, managing the official expenses account and maintaining records as appropriate for the Bishop's office household staff. As such, a good level of numeracy and knowledge of finance are essential in the role.
Proven administrative experience is also important as the successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Bishop's Chaplain with the processes of applications and renewals, including CCSL requests for licenses and authorised clergy roles, including Permission to Officiate (PTO). You'll also play a key role in maintaining working files and databases for all clergy including stipendiary, non-stipendiary, retired (with and without PTO) chaplains, clergy employed by the DBF and deceased clergy.
We would be pleased to hear from applicants who are passionate about making a difference, can demonstrate initiative and enjoy working in a small team. Strong IT skills, particularly Excel, the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders, proven organisational capability and budgeting skills are also pre-requisites, as are tact, diplomacy and a good sense of humour While the role is full-time, we would also consider applications from candidates seeking to undertake the role on a job share basis
