Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Head Chef / Kitchen Manager to join and lead our kitchen team at our Stylish, Historic Country Inn, the Crown Inn, Yoxall DE13 8NQ to create the best dishes from our menu to all our lovely customers, local and surrounding. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of food safety and production processes. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, managing staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
  • Maintain Cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all cooking areas are tidy and well-stocked.
  • Maintain strict food safety standards throughout all stages of food handling to ensure that all meals are prepared in a safe and hygienic manner.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service is ran at all times.
  • Lead and manage the kitchen team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Monitor Inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering fresh stock to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Help train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role within a restaurant or catering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to interact positively with team members and other departments.
  • A pro-active approach to problem-solving with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Knowledge on designing, planning and preparing varied set of menus that cater for individual needs, including allergens, dietary requirements and preferences of each customer.
