Barnes Boffe Recruitment are working with the CEO of a prestigious and highly successful business, operating in the Manufacturing and Recycling market in their search for a Chief Operating Officer. We are undertaking this search on exclusive basis so are the sole Recruiter..

Vacancies like this don't come up very often As COO, you will work very closely with the CEO and be the key player to help develop and implement the operational strategy for the company, ensuring all aspects operate in an effective, efficient, safe and profitable manner.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee a number of the group businesses on a day to day basis, ensuring that the business operates at a profit
  • Coordinate with both Manufacturing and Distribution Operations Directors to ensure all facilities performance levels are to optimal efficiencies
  • Monitor and coordinate the departmental KPIs at each facility on a monthly basis, putting improvement plans in place where required
  • Liaise with the Manufacturing Operations Director regarding the full supply chain, both UK and abroad, to ensure continuous supplies of all raw materials.
  • Liaise with UK, Ireland and European Sales Director over the costings of all manufactured items, manufacturing and dispatch capacities
  • Monitor all staffing levels at operations level and adjust accordingly to meet the Business needs.
  • Carry out performance reviews bi-annually and set training programmes as required
  • Along with the Group Chief Executive Officer, set annual budgets and KPIs
  • Present to Group Board of Directors on a monthly basis
  • Identify and action continuous improvement projects that enable the business to position itself for further growth
  • Day to day control of the Health & Safety at all sites, ensuring all procedures are adhered to.

In addition to the attractive salary level quoted above, you will also receive a significant Group profit based Bonus and a company car.

To be considered for this role, you must be a high level operator who can handle multiple businesses in various geographic areas, different cultures etc. You will have experience in hands on approach to production, supply, customer service, distribution, purchasing, HR and H&S.
