Mechanical Assembler-Brazing

Scope of Role:
Mechanical Assembler responsible for building integrated systems in accordance with drawings and standard operating procedures (SOPs) where available. The role requires skill sets in welding, brazing, pipe fitting and forming. This role ensures that all products meet quality standards and are assembled efficiently.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assemble integrated systems following detailed drawings and SOPs.
- Assist design and engineering with the development of new products and assemble prototypes.
- Braze and fit pipework.
- Pipe bending and forming.
- TIG Welding certification.
- Adherence to hot works procedures.
- Operate hand tools and machinery required for assembly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Report any issues or discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Perform quality checks and testing on assembled products.
- Collaborate with team members to improve assembly processes.
- Keep accurate records of production and any issues encountered.
- Conduct tests and inspections to identify and troubleshoot any issues.
- Adhere to all company manufacturing procedures.
- Complete all relevant documentation.
- Participate in any Continuous Improvement and 5S activities that affects the quality or output of the product.
- Where PPE (personal protective equipment) is provided, you will be required to use it.
- Carry out all activities as defined above in a timely manner to ensure the company manufacturing targets are achieved.
- You will be required to take on ad hoc duties which includes, but is not limited to, training colleagues in line with local skills matrix, department associated tasks and brief secondment to other departments.
Other Responsibilities/Non-essential Functions:
- Undertake training that is identified as a requirement of the role as identified by the role Manager.
- Undertake all other reasonable requests that are made by the role manager/acting manager or Directors.
- At times of reduced department staff attendance there will be a need to be flexible and provide support outside of the normal tasks of the job to ensure customer satisfaction.
Professional Knowledge & Experience:
- Previous experience in assembly or manufacturing is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and SOPs.
- Proven brazing and welding experience
- Proven pipe fitting experience.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ideally, time-served with a completed apprenticeship or significant experience in a similar role.
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently.
- Able to read, write and understand English.
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of assembly small tooling.
- Experience in assembling small components, i.e. model kits or other small component assembly
