Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursery Nurse to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. This role requires strong management and leadership skills, along with a genuine passion for childcare and child development. The Nursery Nurse will play a vital part in supporting children's learning and development through engaging activities and personalised care.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and care for children in a nursery setting, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote early childhood development
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
  • Manage daily routines including feeding, nappy changing, and sleep schedules
  • Lead and support other nursery staff to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Maintain accurate records of children's progress and behaviour
  • Ensure the nursery complies with all health and safety regulations and policies
  • Organise outings and transport arrangements as required, including driving when necessary
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of nursery programmes to enhance learning experiences

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting
  • strong understanding of safeguarding
  • Strong management and leadership abilities to oversee daily activities and staff team
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development standards
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Childcare qualifications recognised within the UK (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare) or equivalent
  • Valid driving licence is desirable for organising outings or transporting children
  • Experience with managing behaviour and supporting individual learning needs
  • Passionate about early childhood education with a caring attitude towards young learners

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £24,420.00-£36,418.10 per year

Expected hours: 10 – 40 per week
