Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced bricklayer to join our team, working on a variety of projects throughout Cumbria. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in masonry and bricklaying, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This role involves a variety of new build site work, domestic extensions and renovations. A commitment to quality workmanship and safety is essential.
Responsibilities
- Lay bricks, blocks, and other masonry units according to specifications.
- Measure and cut materials to ensure precise fitting.
- Mix mortar and other bonding agents to secure bricks in place.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively for various masonry tasks.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters and roofers on projects.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety and company protocols.
- Assist in the training of apprentices or less experienced workers as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience in bricklaying and masonry is essential (3 year's experience preferred).
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools related to masonry work.
- Experience with stonework is advantageous but not essential
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read specifications and technical drawings accurately.
- A valid driver's license is advantageous, but not essential.
