Are you experienced in leading groups of pupils and confident managing challenging behaviour?

We're looking for a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join a specialist pupil referral provision that supports young people who have been excluded from or struggle to access mainstream secondary education. This setting focuses on re-engaging students through structured learning, tailored support and small-group teaching to help them succeed academically and socially.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising whole class learning when staff are absent
  • Delivering planned lesson activities and learning tasks
  • Supporting students to stay on task and engaged in learning
  • Managing behaviour positively and confidently in line with centre guidelines
  • Encouraging good standards of conduct, teamwork and routines

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience leading groups of students and delivering learning activities effectively
  • Be confident and resilient when working with challenging behaviour
  • Understand strategies for supporting pupils who have struggled in mainstream settings
  • Be reliable, flexible and committed to creating a positive learning environment

Start: January

Contract: Full time, permanent after successful probation
