The Wayfarer is a renowned, family-run Brewpub with 27 years in business, celebrated for its exceptional food, warm hospitality, and innovative approach to dining. Our kitchen is supplied by our Kitchen Garden on our 14-acre estate, alongside honey from our own bees. We have a strong reputation for fresh, high-quality, creative, and ambitious food - and now, we're ready to push the boundaries even further.
We're looking for a passionate, talented Sous Chef to join our ambitious kitchen team. You'll work alongside our Head Chef to deliver inventive, seasonal dishes and help lead a dedicated team who care deeply about great food and good service.
What you'll do:
- Support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen and delivering an exceptional dining experience
- Help shape menus and specials using produce from our Kitchen Garden and local suppliers
- Lead by example on prep, cooking, and presentation
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and kitchen organisation
- Train, motivate, and support the wider kitchen team
- Bring creativity, consistency, and positive energy to everything you do
What we're looking for:
- Experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready to step up
- A genuine love for food, flavour, and seasonal ingredients
- Calm, organised, and confident leadership
- Someone who thrives in a busy kitchen with high standards and good humour
