Chair of Trustees

We are looking for a Chair of the Board of Trustees to replace our current Chair, who steps down in February 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to influence the strategic direction of Centrepieces, which is highly respected in the local community.

What difference will you make?

Centrepieces is a small charity with skilled and committed volunteers and Trustees. We make a real difference to the lives of our members, who have all had mental health difficulties. This is an opportunity to lead the charity in looking for new partners and projects, and to help it bid for much needed resources

What are we looking for?

You will need to be skilful in chairing and leading meetings and developing strategy

An empathy with those with mental health challenges is essential.

You must have experience in charity governance and compliance

You must have good communication and networking skills

Experience of financial management and fundraising would be an advantage

What will you be doing?

The board is made up of 12 Trustees and you will chair meetings ensuring a consensus approach to decision-making and strategy development. You will represent Centrepieces at events and in negotiations with other organisations.

You will work closely with the Project Co-ordinator to support him and the key volunteers in the management of the charity. You will also ensure the organisation complies with its governance documents and pursues its charitable objectives.
