The role

As a Corporation Tax Senior Manager or Associate Director, you will oversee complex large corporate tax engagements, providing strategic advice on tax planning and compliance. You will manage key client relationships, mentor teams, and contribute to business development initiatives. Your role ensures technical excellence, client satisfaction, and supports the growth of the tax practice.

Efficiency

  • Role models and motivates others to work efficiently and to embrace new technologies and ways of working to achieve this
  • Encourages and empowers the ideas of team members on improving efficiency and champions these ideas as appropriate
  • Identifies ways in which work delivery can be improved and puts ideas into practice, consulting with the wider team as appropriate.

  • Understands and demonstrates the importance of business needs and the needs of individuals – crucially being able to balance each

  • Acts as a coach and mentor to more junior team members, supporting their management of their own team

Skills & experience

Technical Skills
  • Proficient in reviewing final tax packs/transmittal letters for high risk Corporation Tax clients
  • Proficient in preparing final tax packs/transmittal letters for higher risk Corporation Tax clients
  • Takes the lead on most technical work, other than the most complex, limiting director/partner input to higher risk matters
  • Builds and fosters a good team spirit by engaging directly with team members and taking responsibility for team building events e.g. social events and activities, as well as general team spirit
  • Arranges team meetings, providing agendas and sourcing matters for discussion
  • Promotes a culture within the team of keeping on top of legislative changes. Actively organises training sessions for the team and regularly shares guidance / training material around the team to help with this
  • Is in control of resource management, communicates regularly with other senior management as to team capacity. Also tries to ensure that the team are used according to their skillsets and work is carried out at the appropriate level
  • Is confident and actively building strong relationships with clients
  • Be seen as a leader in the department.
Qualifications

Holds a tax and/or accountancy qualification (e.g. CTA/ACA/ACCA/CA).

Essential Experience

It is expected that the above core and technical skills will have been developed through study alongside work experience in an accountancy practice.
