Investment Analysis●Portfolio Analysis●Multi-Asset●Private Markets●Manager Research ● Edinburgh●LondonOur client, a government-backed investment fund, is seeking a new member of the team to become an integral part of the effective running of a multi-billion pound portfolio, set up for the benefit of future generations.Reporting to the Chief Executive, the successful candidate will join a small, experienced team as an Investment Analyst. This individual will help manage the fund's investment portfolio to ensure long-term growth in alignment with our strategic objectives.The role is currently predominantly remote, although there may be a transition to more hybrid arrangements. Candidates applying should live within a commutable distance from Edinburgh. Travel to meetings across the UK will be required.The Role-> Portfolio analysis, looking at broad portfolio management issues, including asset allocation, performance attribution, currency exposure, risk analysis.-> Research and due diligence, working with our external advisers.-> Performance monitoring of existing investments. This includes attending meetings with advisers, manager meetings, analysing performance, risk metrics, and creating written commentaries and performance reports to support governance processes and decision-making.-> Operational support will include assisting with preparations for internal and external meetings, managing actions, assisting with on and off-boarding of managers, reviewing fee calculations, dealing with KYC and other information requests.->There will be an expectation for the successful candidate to gain an understanding of and be involved in wider fund activities. These will include:supporting finance operationsassistance with asset and liability modellinginput to wider risk management and control activitiesassisting with the oversight and assurance of service providers.Qualifications & ExperienceUndergraduate degree required.2-5 years of work experience.Broad multi-asset investment knowledge, including private markets, is preferable.Strong analytical and judgment skills with ability to assess both the quantitative and qualitative aspects of an investment. Strong financial modelling skills.Strong understanding of capital structures and financial instruments.An understanding of and familiarity with sourcing and evaluating external managers.Ability to represent the organisation before service providers, other LPs and fund managers.Strong communication skills, both oral and written.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and to liaise effectively at various levels in an organisation.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Intellectual curiosity and humble approach to investing. A strong interest in analysis, with an appetite for deep research.Highly organised and proactive with attention to detail and a strong work ethic.Highly proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
