Make a Real-World Impact with Esri UK

Are you a skilled Project Manager ready to lead innovative technology projects that help solve some of the world's most complex challenges?

At Esri UK, we harness cutting-edge mapping technology and spatial analysis to empower businesses, public sector organisations, universities, and charities to make smarter, data-driven decisions. By joining our Professional Services Team, you'll play a meaningful role in helping these organisations improve society and protect the environment, delivering innovative solutions that make a real difference through the power of geography.

What You'll Do

As a Project Manager, you'll lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver software projects across the full lifecycle - from discovery and design, through to build and deployment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of software configuration and development projects, within one of our four specialist domains, Government, Utilities, Defence and Transport/AEC.
  • Building strong customer relationships, understanding their business goals, and helping them realise value from Esri technology.
  • Tailoring delivery approaches (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) to suit project needs and ensure quality, budget, and timelines are met.
  • Manage resources across projects, ensuring effective planning, allocation, and optimisation to support successful delivery.
  • Collaborating with solution architects and consultants, fostering high-performing teams and a positive work culture.
  • Contributing to business development, supporting proposals, estimates, and strategic account planning.
  • Providing strategic oversight and coordination across multiple projects at the programme level, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and customer outcomes.

What We're Looking For

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have proven project management experience in IT or software delivery (essential).
  • Have experience with one or more delivery models (such as Agile, Waterfall and SAFe), and the relevant certification(s).
  • Are familiar with cloud platforms, SaaS, COTS, system integration, the software development life cycle and digital transformation projects.
  • Are skilled in stakeholder engagement at all levels, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Bring strong risk management skills and sound financial acumen to guide successful project outcomes.
  • Can evaluate a customer's business goals and strategic objectives, and translate them into compelling proposals supported by detailed delivery plans
  • Enjoy solving problems, multitasking, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate curiosity, a collaborative spirit and a proactive mindset

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, and you don't need prior GIS experience to succeed in this role.

Due to the nature of our work and the sensitivity of the data and clients we support, successful candidates may be required to undergo government security clearance, which could include higher-level vetting. As part of this process, candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK and may need to have lived in the UK continuously for the past five years.

What We Offer

  • A good basic salary – starting from circa £45k+ and rising with experience, plus a generous company bonus scheme paying up to 20% per annum.
  • A great benefits package – a 6% company pension; Vitality healthcare scheme; gym contribution; cycle to work scheme; family friendly policies, including enhanced maternity and paternity benefits. We believe that as a company we should give back wherever we can and also offer volunteering opportunities for charities that are important to you.
  • Flexible working – we all work flexibly. We are also happy to consider full and part time applications
  • Location - You can be home or office based (Edinburgh, Aylesbury or Cambridge), or a mixture of both. We work virtual-first with most of our customers, however some travel (including some overnight stays) for customer visits, on site work, and team meetings will be required.
  • Career development – valuing our people is one of our company values, and we're committed to providing mentoring, training, and progression pathways within Professional Services.

Our Culture

Esri UK is an equal opportunity employer. We value diversity and inclusion and believe that different perspectives make us stronger. We're committed to creating a supportive, innovative, and collaborative environment where everyone can thrive.
