We are looking for a seasoned Director of Compliance who will be responsible for managing an effective and appropriate financial-related compliance program, including anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) for Nayax UK.

This position emphasizes leading, developing, operating, and maintaining systems and controls to prevent the firm's products and services from financial crime and risk while ensuring compliance with FCA regulations. You will focus on reducing the risks of financial penalties, reporting to regulators, and training employees on compliance-related matters. You will report directly to the Chief Compliance Officer and manage a small team.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

AML and CTF

  • Oversee effective AML and CTF systems and controls in the UK.
  • Implement FCA regulations and maintain a risk-based approach to AML/CTF.
  • Conduct regular assessments of adequacy of systems and controls.
  • Keep compliance program updated with regulatory changes and new products/services.
  • Manage Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).

Compliance

  • Ensure effective systems, procedures, and controls to meet FCA requirements as an EMI.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures supporting compliance program.
  • Liaise with Nayax Group Corporate Compliance and report risks/violations.
  • Conduct monitoring, report results, and assist in remediation activities.
Requirements

What Makes You a Great Fit:

Education: Bachelor's or Master's in law or related fields

Certification: FCA certified – mandatory

Leadership: Excellent business partnering skills, ability to lead change, self-motivated

Skills: Strong business acumen, transaction monitoring, fraud detection, investigations, peer-group analysis, AML/CFT

Experience:

  • Proven compliance officer/manager in fintech/financial institution is a must
  • 6–10 years in Compliance Regulatory Affairs, AML/CFT in the UK.
  • Experience developing/administering internal controls and processes.
  • People management experience – preferable.
