Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on a variety of building types. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety procedures, and the ability to work at heights. The ideal applicant will have experience with various tools and materials, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to project timelines.

Duties

• Install new roofing systems using appropriate materials and techniques, including felt, tiles, slates, or metal sheets
• Repair or replace damaged roofing components to ensure weatherproofing and structural integrity
• Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and specifications to execute roofing projects accurately
• Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication machinery safely and efficiently
• Assist with the construction of roof structures, including carpentry and masonry work as needed
• Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with safety standards and quality expectations
• Perform heavy lifting of materials such as tiles, sheets, or insulation materials safely and effectively
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects within specified timeframes while maintaining safety protocols

Experience

• Proven experience in roofing installation, repair, or maintenance is essential
• Knowledge of schematics, welding techniques, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and fabrication is advantageous
• Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment in construction environments
• Experience working with construction plans and technical drawings preferred
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights safely is required
• Previous exposure to working with roofing materials such as tiles, metal sheets, felt or slates is desirable

Required Experience

• Proven experience with flat roofing systems:

• Torch‑on mineral felt systems

• Single ply membrane systems

• Liquid roofing systems

• Skilled in pitched roofing systems:

• Slate roofing

• Tile roofing

• Knowledge of commercial roofing systems:

• Metal roofing systems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From £15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 18 – 60 per week
