Job Description/Responsibilities
The Category development and insight lead efforts to acquire business and competitive information, translating it into actionable insight and strong customer and consumer propositions. They will work closely with the marketing and sales team and managing relationships with 3rd party data and insight partners. The role will proactively identify insight to shape category, customer and brand strategies, as well as providing performance understanding, executional recommendations and commercial target setting. They will create compelling, fact-based mutually beneficial growth stories for priority customers enabling our portfolio to gain share of distribution, space and location across the on and off trade. They will ensure the best performance tracking is in place to continually improve effectiveness. Reporting into the Managing Director, there is the opportunity for the successful candidate to shape the role and potentially build a team in the future.
Additional Responsibilities Include
- Identify the right 3rd party insights partners to work with and manage them effectively ensuring we're maximising ROI from our investment.
- Shape the sources of insight we require to achieve the business growth ambition.
- Help support long-term commercial strategy and identify potential white space and emerging channels where the business should play.
- Help shape the category, customer and brand strategies across the portfolio, as well as identifying innovation opportunities.
- Create compelling, fact-based mutually beneficial growth stories for priority customers enabling our portfolio to gain share of distribution, space and location across on and off trade.
- Build opportunity for us to take more of a category leader status across our key focus categories.
- Support putting greater consumer understanding into the business and put this at the centre of the brand and customer plans.
- Manage quantitative and qualitative projects to identify key brand, shopper and consumer insights and learning.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience working in a role where can clearly demonstrate continually building key insight and translating it into executional actions and compelling sales stories delivering improved results.

- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
- Ability to manage and influence key stakeholder locally and globally.

- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- High level MS Excel and PowerPoint Skills and competence in manipulating data
- Familiarity with key market data sources / tools (CGA, IRI, Nielsen, Kantar) and planogramming software
