About The Role:
Shift Pattern:
4 on 4 off rotation days and nights 12 hours per shift
The role holder will develop operational excellence and best practice, As the Control Room Officer and a member of the Security team, you are responsible for the eyes and ears of both the power station and the Estate optimising our service and value offering to customers to achieve performance targets. , not only from an evidential perspective but also as overwatch for all potential risks and hazards that may occur across the Battersea Power Station and estate. You will bring innovation and leadership and ensure a high-performance culture within your remit. This is an active and visible role requiring strong leadership competence in addition to entrepreneurial ability. Client interaction is significant and excellent relationship management skills are required. You should be both welcoming and representative of the 'five-star' feel of the Estate and the client we are representing in all interactions, emails or phone calls.
The primary focus of this role is to provide support, management, supervision of all phases (where appropriate) & the Security Team, both of which are in operation 24/7. The role is pro-active to prevent incidents escalating and evidential to record and monitor. You will be expected to assist the estate team, ensuring that the environment is not only running as smoothly as possible but exceeding expectations.
The Control room officer is responsible for aiding the Control Room Supervisor & DSM in controlling the day-to-day operational requirements of the contract in line with the customer and contractual expectations ensuring that they are safe, secure and confident in their role. The Control room supervisor acts as the initial management contact for all security personnel on their shift and will report directly into the Control room supervisor and ensuring service delivery and prompt response to all incidents.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Reporting directly to the Control room Supervisor has overall responsibility for the running of the Security Control Room and assisting the day to day running of the security team on their shift.
- Be fully conversant with and comply with all other procedures as detailed in the site Assignment Instructions.
- Ensure MyTAG (Kinexio) Occurrence Log is accurately maintained during full duration of the shift.
- Have an overview of Over – C - monitoring continuous patrols and dashboards.
- Ensure SCR is kept tidy.
- Carry out special administrational tasks/projects as issued by the Security Operation Manager.
- Carry out daily verification checks to ensure all control room systems are fully operational and where they are not, initiate corrective action. Escalate any issues.
- Report any issues or incidents to the Control room Supervisor.
- Help raise the profile of security and fire prevention ensuring that customers/residents are well informed always of procedures and processes.
- Ensure that all incidents are managed as directed and in accordance with policy and procedures. Create Everbridge if required.
- Display CCTV licence always whilst on duty.
- Be aware of policies and procedures owned and changed from time to time by OCS and Battersea Team.
- Assist the Control room Supervisor in managing and maintaining site training documentation.
- Communicate any grievances, absences, sickness in a timely manner through the correct communication chain.
- Communicate Health and Safety matters in a timely matter through the correct communication chain.

- Assist in investigations and disciplinary hearings using the appropriate documentation.
- This role will require significant interaction at all levels within the company and with internal stakeholders, external clients, residents and suppliers.

- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

- Able to work in all weather conditions.

- Customer focused with a strong knowledge of customer service skills.
- Able to demonstrate a strong aptitude for multi-tasking.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Excellent understanding of access control & CCTV systems. C-Cure, Genetec system.
- Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative, often in challenging situations, as well as being a collaborative team player who will support colleagues and provide ideas to improve the whole team effort.
- Possess excellent leadership and motivational skills to create a high performing team and will coach and develop team members to achieve their potential and will have an inspiring and engaging management style.
Qualifications & Experience:
- SIA CCTV License Public surveillance is Essential
- Control room experience is essential for this role
- Previous experience in the Private Security Industry or similar role – Essential
- Team leading and incident response – Essential
- Emergency First Aid at Work – Desirable
- Supervisor/Team Leading Experience – Essential
- SIA Door Supervisor or Close Protection License– Desirable
- Knowledge or experience in HR proceedings, such as meetings/interviews – Desirable
- Experience in working in a high-end mixed-use destination – Desirable
- Customer Service Qualification – Desirable
- Supervisor/Management qualification – Desirable
