About you:
As a Principal Employee Relations Adviser, you will be a skilled and confident professional providing expert HR advice and support on complex, sensitive, and multi-faceted employee relations cases. You'll manage a varied caseload of strategic cases, balancing competing priorities while ensuring timely, high-quality outcomes that mitigate risk, are commercially focused, and uphold business standards.
You'll work closely with leaders across the business, guiding them through challenging employee relations issues with professionalism and clarity. As a senior member of the Employee Success team, you'll ensure consistency in service delivery whilst evolving and contributing to a strong / collaborative employee relations team.
You can provide commercially sound solutions that balance business needs, risk, deadlines, and the employee experience. You will be autonomous and comfortable taking initiative and making a difference to improve processes without direction. Your in-depth knowledge of UK & Ireland Employment Law will mean you can lead on complex and high-risk cases with a pragmatic approach
Day-to-day, you will:

Complex Case Management
– Serve as subject matter expert for ER cases including investigations, disciplinary matters, grievances, employment tribunals, and strategic restructures across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring commercial outcomes within specified deadlines whilst adhering to employment law and company policies.

Governance & Risk Leadership
– Identify and escalate reputational, financial, and legal risks to senior management, ensure GDPR compliance, conduct root cause analysis on systemic issues, and monitor advice quality and trends to improve employee experience through evidence-based decision making.

Team Development & Mentoring
– Support and guide ER Advisers on complex cases, design and deliver upskilling workshops for leaders, mentor high-potential team members, contribute to succession planning, and identify continuous improvement opportunities across all team activities.

Strategic Projects & Excellence
– Project manage multi-process cases, analyse data to identify trends using Excel proficiencies, propose process improvements, draft global communications, build excellent stakeholder relationships, and demonstrate world-class customer service through effective coaching and standardised ways of working.
Your skills and experiences might also include:
•
Professional Qualifications & Expertise
– CIPD Level 7 (or equivalent HR experience), comprehensive knowledge of UK & Ireland employment law and case law, with desirable professional mediation/investigation qualifications and employment tribunal advocacy experience.

Complex Case Management Experience
– Extensive background managing sensitive employee relations cases autonomously whilst juggling multiple priorities, ideally within fast-paced technology sector matrix environments and diverse multi-geographical organisations.

Analytical & Communication Excellence
– Strong analytical skills to interpret policies, legislation, and case law, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities to influence and coach stakeholders at all levels across various audiences.

Technical & Systems Proficiency
– Advanced skills in data analysis and reporting using MS Excel and PowerPoint, experience with HR information systems and case management tools, plus desirable change management certification and project management experience.
