Main Purpose of the Role
As a QC Technician, you'll play a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest quality and food safety standards. You'll be responsible for testing ingredients and finished products, carrying out organoleptic assessments, and ensuring all work is completed efficiently, accurately, and safely. Once compliance is confirmed, you'll authorise the release of ingredients and finished products, helping to maintain our commitment to excellence and consistency across everything we produce.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage workload efficiently, ensuring tasks are completed on time and aligned with Quality Supervisor priorities.
- Ensure availability and stock levels of equipment, glassware, chemicals, and test methods.
- Conduct quality tests on raw materials and finished products in line with QC procedures, verifying analytical results against specifications.
- Organise and perform routine sensory evaluations (taste/odour panels, triangle tests) and manage sample preparation, recording, and distribution.
- Re-sample and retest out-of-spec materials or products, confirming accuracy and reporting non-conformances with recommended actions.
- Record all test results and observations accurately and store data systematically.
- Release raw materials and finished products in the ERP system and coordinate GCMS testing with the Analytical team.
- Verify delivery documentation and liaise with suppliers for any missing paperwork.
- Complete retest programmes, maintain progress records, and relabel or reject stock as required.
- Schedule microbiological samples and manage external testing, ensuring timely dispatch and communication of results.
- Conduct internal audits and environmental monitoring in line with Quality Management System requirements.
- Support ATP positive release, allergen validation, and verification programmes.
- File all paperwork and samples promptly and support investigations of non-conformances.
- Build knowledge of materials, processes, products, and testing procedures, contributing ideas for improvement.
- Follow safety protocols and company policies, perform calibration and verification tasks, and take part in quality-related projects.
