To deliver high‑quality teaching in small groups (typically 3–8 learners), focusing on core subjects (English and Maths) and enrichment activities. The role is designed to help learners build confidence, develop skills, and progress towards functional qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons for small groups of learners
  • Differentiate teaching to meet diverse needs, including SEND and SEMH
  • Track learner progress and provide feedback to the provision lead
  • Create a positive, supportive classroom environment
  • Maintain accurate records (attendance, progress, safeguarding notes)
  • Work collaboratively with other staff and external partners
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and health & safety policies

Skills

  • Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of special education practices and working with individuals with disabilities or autism is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, teachers, parents, and specialists.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs and styles.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude towards children of all abilities.
  • Organisation skills to assist in managing classroom activities and resources efficiently.
  • A genuine passion for mentoring young learners and fostering an inclusive environment. This position provides valuable experience in the education sector for those committed to making a positive impact on children's lives through supportive teaching practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5.5 per week
