My client are a leading elevator and escalator service company committed to providing top-quality maintenance, repair, and modernization services to our clients. With a strong focus on safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Service Engineer to join our team.



Job Overview

They are looking for an experienced and qualified Service Engineer with an NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering to maintain, repair, and service a diverse range of elevators and escalators. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and safety checks on various types of elevators and escalators to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in elevator and escalator systems.
  • Carry out repairs, replacements, and adjustments of elevator and escalator components, including motors, controllers, doors, cables, and safety devices.
  • Respond promptly to emergency calls and breakdowns, providing efficient and effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement appropriate safety measures before and during maintenance or repair work.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections performed on each unit.
  • Provide clear and concise reports on the condition of elevators and escalators, including recommendations for repairs or upgrades.
  • Collaborate with other team members, supervisors, and management to ensure smooth operations and high-quality service delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and safety regulations through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Educate clients on proper elevator and escalator usage, maintenance requirements, and safety procedures.
  • Assist in the installation and modernization of elevator and escalator systems as required.
  • Manage and maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools necessary for efficient service delivery.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines while performing duties.
 
Qualifications and Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering or equivalent qualification is essential.
  • City & Guilds (C&G) certification in relevant electrical or mechanical disciplines is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Service Engineer in the elevator and escalator industry.
  • Strong knowledge of elevator and escalator systems, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose complex issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and practices in the elevator industry.
