Job Description:
Job Title: Teaching Assistant (SEND)
Location: Burnley
Do you have the desire to work with children in a school setting?
Looking to support children with additional needs, to allow them to achieve their best shot at education?
Answered yes to all the above? If so, Aspire Behaviour Management may be just what you are looking for
Our Specialist Supply Agency are working with numerous mainstream primary schools across Bolton, Burnley, Wigan and surrounds, who require SEND Teaching assistants to support children with a range of additional needs.
Asking yourself where we differ from other agencies?
Aspire Behaviour Management pride ourselves on offering our Specialist Supply Staff long term placements, rather than the odd day here and there.
We also like to share the success stories of those who started on our Specialist Supply Agency, and have gone on to secure full time, permanent positions with schools they were supporting in.
Aspire Behaviour Management provide all the training you need to ensure you are ready and raring to go
We do this via our in-house training that will provide you with an initial toolkit to get you started, along with an extensive range of courses available for you to access, should you need to expand your skillset.
What will I be doing?
· Supporting within a classroom setting
· Providing support to children, ensuring that they feel supported in all aspects of learning.
· Building positive relationships to allow engagement from the children, to foster a positive learning environment and ensure their individual needs are met.
· Use of effective Behaviour Management Strategies to overcome challenges in education that the child may face.
· Supporting with learning ways to manage behaviours and emotions the child/children may be struggling with.
· Completing any administrative tasks required of you, including record-keeping and providing any information required to those completing reports to support the child/children.
· Working closely with the school to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum, and support to the child/children.
Ok, so what are the requirements?
The Children and Young People we support have a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH), and are identified as at risk of exclusion from mainstream education. Therefore, this can be a challenging role but one of the most rewarding.
We are therefore looking for people who hold the following:
Personal or Work experience with children who need SEMH support
· Grade 4 or above in English & Maths (or equivalent)
· A passion for going above and beyond for Children & Young People and the individual needs they have.
· Effective communication skills.
· Ability to understand not every day is a challenge.
· Be excited about each day bringing something new to the table.
· Calm, understanding and empathetic.
· Engage with the children by modelling positive relationships.
· Willingness to learn about the Children and Young People you are working with, to support them to reach their full potential.
· Right to Work in the UK.
Why Join Our Specialist Support:
We acknowledge that without the support and dedication of our amazing team, we will not be able to deliver the high level of service we offer, and therefore we offer our Specialist Supply Staff the following:
· Extensive in-house training package available.
· Long-term and short-term placements within mainstream schools.
· Flexibility to suit your requirements.
· Potential for temporary - permanent work.
