Cherrytree Nursery School Ltd. are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated and reliable Early Years Practitioners to join our experienced and happy team with training offered before starting with us ready for January 2026.

A position may be possible at either the Newtown or the Kingsnorth Road Branch.

We are looking for someone who is available to work part time and also 'on-call' (to cover courses, holidays and staff sickness). If you are only interested in one or the other position and not both, please let us know together with your application.

Preferably, the successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following (though others will be considered):

  • Be qualified to at least NVQ Level 2 in Childcare with a minimum of one years experience, or have Maths and English GCSE at grade C or above.
  • Have an understanding of the EYFS and to ensure that any planning for each key child is individual, differentiated and developmentally appropriate for that child.
  • Have a good standard of written English
  • Be flexible, reliable and supportive to other staff.
  • Be committed, hard working, willing to share new ideas and work as part of a team.
  • Be able to provide a clear DBS (Police Check) when applied for / be able to provide an Update Service number to check against.

You will be responsible for:

  • Being able to accurately complete children's observations records and to ensure these are kept up to date.
  • Ensuring the opportunities and experiences offered reflect the equality and cultural diversity of all children.
  • Making sure you adhere to and implement all nursery policies and procedures.
  • Being sure to adhere to the allergy and dietary requirements of each child

It is also important when working at Cherrytree where possible to have a current Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding Certificates (although necessary training will be provided if these are not currently held).
