Ready to take the lead as the go-to expert for Non-Destructive Testing on one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects?

Are you confident in your ability to guide suppliers and contractors through complex NDT requirements?

Do you want to play a pivotal role in ensuring quality and compliance for nuclear new build projects?

The Opportunity

We're seeking an NDT Subject Matter Expert to join a leading engineering consultancy supporting the delivery of critical infrastructure projects. You'll play a key role in reviewing design packages, advising suppliers, and overseeing NDT activities to ensure compliance with stringent technical standards.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Provide specialist NDT expertise to contractors and engineering teams during design and manufacturing phases.
  • Review technical documentation and supplier arrangements to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Conduct detailed assessments of supplier NDT capabilities and identify areas requiring additional support.
  • Perform routine witnessing and surveillance of NDT activities during manufacture prior to product release.
  • Act as the primary technical authority for NDT, supporting the wider team on complex issues.

You will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Degree, HNC, or HND in an engineering discipline (or equivalent experience in complex plant environments).
  • Ideally registered as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng).
  • Extensive experience in an NDT leadership role within a manufacturing setting (typically 10+ years).
  • Level 3 certification (ASNT, PCN or equivalent) with proven application of NDT in nuclear or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of UK and international standards and codes of practice, with excellent stakeholder communication skills.
