Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Kitchen Team Leader to oversee daily kitchen operations within our busy takeaway hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary and food safety knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team, ensure high standards of food production and presentation, and contribute to a welcoming dining experience for our guests.

Duties

  • Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food preparation, cooking, and serving processes.
  • Oversee food production, ensuring quality standards are consistently met and maintained.
  • Manage daily kitchen operations, including organising staff schedules and delegating tasks effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Assist with food preparation as needed, supporting the team during busy periods.
  • Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to minimise waste.
  • Train new staff members on kitchen procedures, safety protocols, and customer service expectations.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a positive working environment that encourages teamwork and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in food production, cooking, serving, or related culinary roles within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Previous management or supervising experience in a kitchen environment is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
  • Experience in food preparation, culinary techniques, and hospitality operations.
  • Barista experience is considered an advantage but not essential.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
