Support Worker (Bank Staff)

About the role

Agathos Care Services is recruiting Support Workers to join our staff bank. We support adults in supported living services, residential care homes and community environments across Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Leeds, Chesterfield and the surrounding areas.

Your role is to help individuals live safely, comfortably and with dignity. You will be working closely with people in their day-to-day lives, offering both practical and emotional support.

What you will do

  • Support with daily living tasks such as washing, dressing, meals and personal care
  • Encourage independence and promote choice wherever possible
  • Provide companionship and emotional reassurance
  • Follow individual care plans and record relevant observations
  • Assist with safe mobility and use of equipment where required
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Work professionally as part of a team and communicate clearly

What we expect

  • Experience in care or support is preferred
  • Right to work in the UK
  • DBS in place or willing to apply
  • A calm, respectful and reliable approach
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and clear professional boundaries

Preferable experience (not essential)

  • First Aid or CPR training
  • Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism or dementia
  • Confidence in monitoring changes in wellbeing and reporting concerns sensitively
