Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and passionate Junior Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will assist in food preparation, cooking, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills within a professional hospitality environment, working alongside experienced chefs and management. The Junior Chef will contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests while gaining valuable industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of dishes in line with established recipes and standards.
  • Support senior chefs in food production, ensuring quality and consistency across all menu items.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering strictly to food safety regulations.
  • Supervise junior team members when required, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Manage stock levels, assist with inventory checks, and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
  • Contribute to menu development ideas and participate in tasting sessions.
  • Ensure all food served meets health and safety standards, including proper handling and hygiene practices.
  • Support the team during busy service periods, demonstrating excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment or hospitality setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen safety protocols.
  • Supervising experience or leadership qualities are advantageous for progression within the role.
  • Familiarity with food production processes, restaurant operations, and serving procedures is beneficial.
  • A genuine passion for culinary arts and hospitality, with a keen interest in developing professional skills within a team-oriented environment.
