What's the role?
We're on an exciting journey and we need a Senior Test Engineer to help us get there.
This role sits at the heart of our Technology function, where we're shaping the future of digital experiences for travellers and partners worldwide.
As a Senior Test Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products, embracing Agile principles and modern testing practices. You'll be instrumental in driving continuous improvement and maintaining the highest standards of quality across the software development lifecycle.
This is a hands-on, collaborative role where you'll wear many hats — quality coach, advocate, mentor, tester, leader, and customer representative — all while helping drive our culture of quality and innovation.
About You
You're passionate about delivering high-quality, scalable software and thrive in a fast-paced Agile environment. You're a strong collaborator who works closely with product owners, developers, and delivery teams to ensure features meet user needs and exceed expectations.
As a natural leader and mentor, you'll support other testers to grow their skills, champion best practices, and influence how we deliver quality across CAVU. You'll bring curiosity, attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset — always asking the right questions and using your testing instinct to represent the customer.
What You'll Be Doing
- Champion collaboration: Work cross-functionally to prevent defects early, using pairing and mobbing where valuable to improve shared understanding and delivery quality.
- Drive testing excellence: Own quality conversations within squads, define testing strategies for major pieces of work, and balance automation with exploratory testing to achieve the best outcomes.
- Coach and support: Help teams understand "the right testing, at the right time", ensuring quality attributes are defined early and tested effectively.
- Hands-on testing: Perform manual and automation testing of APIs and applications using tools like Postman, Ghost Inspector, and Cypress.
- Continuous improvement: Drive continuous delivery practices, shorten feedback loops, and foster a culture of experimentation and learning within the Quality Engineering community.
- Influence and innovate: Partner with Tech Leads and the Head of Quality to shape our approach to quality across the organisation.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Senior Test Engineer or similar role within an Agile environment
- Strong understanding of modern testing practices, including automation, exploratory testing, and risk-based testing
- Experience testing APIs and web applications using tools such as Postman, Ghost Inspector, or Cypress
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills — able to influence, coach, and engage cross-functional teams
- A proactive mindset and passion for continuous learning and improvement
- Experience line-managing or mentoring other testers is a plus
The Perks
- 25 Days Holiday, increasing 1 day per year with service (up to 28)
- Option to buy up to 10 additional days' annual leave, plus 4 flexible bank holidays
- 10% Company Pension
- Annual Bonus Scheme
- On-Site Gym
- MediCash Scheme
- Flexible Benefits & Discounts – including up to 50% off CAVU products (Escape Lounges, Airport Parking, etc.)
- Rail and retail discounts
- 2 paid volunteering days per year
- Access to our internal events calendar including regular health, wellbeing, and ID&E activities
- Development opportunities including mentoring and learning grants
- Enhanced parental leave (T&Cs apply)
