The Client

Role Purpose

Your new organisation is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor with project management skills to join our Property Services team. The successful candidate will:

  • Survey and deliver capital projects across the corporate property portfolio.
  • Provide general surveying services to support the management of our commercial investment properties.
  • Contribute to the effective management of assets, ensuring compliance, sustainability, and value for money.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on the delivery of complex capital projects from inception to completion.
  • Undertake building surveys, feasibility studies, and condition assessments.
  • Prepare specifications, tender documents, and reports.
  • Manage contractors and consultants to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required standards.
  • Provide professional advice on property matters to colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Support the businesses wider objectives around housing delivery, sustainability, and carbon reduction.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Formal qualification in building surveying or a related discipline.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex capital projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to negotiate and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Self‑motivated, adaptable, and flexible in approach.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience working within local government or the public sector.
  • Knowledge of sustainability standards and carbon reduction in construction.
  • Familiarity with managing commercial investment properties.
